Explore Malacca and the Cameron Highlands together.
Morning, pick up from Renaissance New World and drive to Melaka (148 km / 2 hours). Check in and lunch at Renaissance Melaka. After lunch at 1400 hours, proceed for a city tour of Melaka. This tour includes the Stadthuys (town house), built in 1650 by the Dutch for their governors and officers. Visit the Museums of History, Ethnography and Literature. Then to St. Paul’s Church, built by a Portuguese Captain before going to the famous Porta De Santiago. Enjoy a leisurely walk along Jonker Street, popular for its antique shops. Return to hotel at 1700 hours. Dinner and overnight Ramada Plaza Melaka Hotel . (Lunch/Dinner included)
At 0900 hours, depart to the oldest place of worship in Melaka, the Tranguerah Mosque. After that spend time at another historic house of worship, Malaysia’s oldest Chinese Temple, Chen Hoon Teng which dates back to 1646. The tour ends with visit two Christian Churches – the Anglican Christ Church and the Roman Catholic St. Peters. Return to hotel. Lunch.
Afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat ride for 45 minutes along Melaka River. Where once, merchant ships came from ports in India, China and Arabia to trade their textiles and silk, for spices and scented woods. You will be able to observe the lifestyle of the locals nearby. At 0930 hours, depart hotel to visit BOH tea plantation and go for the factory tour to see how tea leaf is processed. The highland was first founded in 1885 by Mr. William Cameron, a British Government surveyor while on a mapping expedition. With the cool climate, it became the perfect place to grow tea and vegetables. Return to hotel.
After lunch, proceed to the farm and markets place selling the local produce. Take a walk along Kea Farm, the whole area is just one big market garden. Many of the vegetables supplied in Malaysia and to Singapore are grown here. Besides vegetables, flowers like roses, dried flowers and small potted plants are commonly seen in the market. Return to hotel. Dinner and overnight Heritage Hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
At 0830 hours, after breakfast drive down from Cameron Highlands for the Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar (151 km / approx. 2 hours). On arrival, make a short stop at one of the most beautiful mosque in the country, the Ubudiah Mosque. Then visit the Royal Muzeum. Drive around the old colonial town before heading for Taiping (40 km / approx. 30 mins). Lunch at local Chinese restaurant. At 1300 hours, continue the tour with a visit to the beautiful Lake Gardens. Then to a British Commonwealth War Memorial and to the oldest museum in the country, the Perak Museum. Depart for Penang and check in at Hotel of your choice or drop off at airport. (Breakfast/Lunch included)
