Day 1 Kuala Lumpur – Malacca & City Tour (L,D)
At 0900 hours, pick up from Renaissance New World and drive to Malacca (2 hours). Check in and lunch at Renaissance Malacca. After lunch, proceed for a city tour of Malacca including the Stadthuys (town house), built in 1650 by the Dutch for their governors and officers. Visit the Museums of History, Ethnography and Literature. Then to St. Paul’s Church, built by a Portuguese Captain before going to the famous Porta De Santiago. Enjoy a leisure walk along Jonker Street, popular for its antique shops. Dinner and overnight Malacca Renaissance Hotel.
Day 2 Temples & Mosques / Malacca River Boat Ride (B,L,D)
At 0900 hours, depart to the oldest place of worship in Malacca, the Tranguerah Mosque. Spend time at another historic house of worship, Malaysia’s oldest Chinese Temple, Chen Hoon Teng which dates back to 1646. The tour ends with visits to two Christian Churches – the Anglican Christ Church and the Roman Catholic St. Peters. Return to hotel. Lunch.
Afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat ride for 45 minutes along Malacca River. Where once, merchant ships came from ports in India, China and Arabia to trade their textiles and silk, for spices and scented woods. You will be able to observe the lifestyle of the locals living near by. Overnight Malacca Renaissance Hotel.
Day 3 Melaka – Cameron Highlands (B,L,D)
1000 hours, depart Renaissance Malacca Hotel to Cameron Highlands (5 hours). Packed lunch provided. Check in at Century Pines Hotel. Free at leisure till dinner. Overnight Century Pines Hotel.
Day 4 Tea Plantations / Farm & Markets (B,L,D)
0930 hours, depart hotel to visit BOH tea plantation and a factory tour to see how tea leaf is processed. With the cool climate, it’s the perfect place to grow tea and vegetables.
After lunch, proceed to the farm and market place selling the local produce. Take a walk along Kea Farm, the whole area is just one big market garden. Besides vegetables, flowers like roses, dried flowers and small potted plants are commonly seen in the market. Dinner and overnight Century Pines Hotel.
Day 5 Cameron Highlands – Penang (B,L)
0830 hours, drive down from Cameron Highlands for the Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar (approx 2 hours). On arrival, make a short stop at one of the most beautiful mosques in the country, the Ubudiah Mosque and then visit the Royal Museum. Drive around the old colonial town before heading for Taiping (approx. 30 mins). Lunch at local Chinese restaurant. Continue the tour with a visit to the beautiful Lake Gardens and on to a British Commonwealth War Memorial and to the oldest museum in the country, the Perak Museum. Depart for Penang and check in at Hotel of your choice or drop off at airport.
