Morning, pick up from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu and transfer to the Railway station. Experience Borneo’s suburbs and countryside onboard one of the few functional steam train left in the world. The train is hauled by a British Vulcan steam locomotive, designed and built by the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire, England in 1954 as part of the last order before the factory converted to diesel and electric locomotive construction.
The Vulcan 6-015, a 2-6-2 carrying a green livery with polished boiler bands and red edging to the running plate and tender frame is fuelled by burning wood to produce steam.
Travel through paddy fields, orchards, schools, mangrove jungles and coastal areas. Visit a Chinese temple and explore pre-war shops, local markets and see the locals go about their daily life.
As you make your way back to Kota Kinabalu, enjoy a tiffin lunch served on board the colonial style carriage. On arrival at Kota Kinabalu, transfer back to your hotel (Lunch included).

Lok Kawi Wildlife Park

The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is a half-hour drive from the city of Kota Kinabalu.

The journey there is an adventure itself as it takes you through winding roads and past kampung-style houses. The Wildlife Park houses some of the most exotic and beautiful animals found in this part of the world.

Must-see exhibits include the playful Orang Utan, charming Borneo Pygmy Elephants and the playful otters!

The Aviary is also a favourite where you can be part of feeding time. Don’t miss the Animal Shows at the main stage at 11:15 am and 3:30 pm (except on Fridays and during rainy weather) where you can get up close with pythons and enjoy the antics of the Park’s many feathered friends.

There is a special section dedicated for children which includes a petting zoo and an elephant ride. Open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
