Tour highlights: Summit Trail to the peak of Mt Kinabalu.
(06:30hrs) Pick-up from your hotel lobby and depart on a 2 hr journey to Kinabalu Park Headquarter. Collect your packed lunch.
(09:00hr) Our guide will arrange for all necessary registrations, assign you a mountain guide and apply for your ID TAG. Remember to wear your ID TAG at all times.
You’ll then be transferred to starting point – Timpohon Gate – where your journey and quest to the summit of Borneo’s highest mountain begins!
The climb will take approximately 4-5 hours. The trek will pass by different vegetation zones from Oak and Chestnut to mossy and eventually to alpine type of vegetations.
Arrive and check into Laban Rata Rest House @ 3272m or similar in the late afternoon.
Buffet Dinner at Laban Rata restaurant and overnight.
(02:00hrs) Wake up for early supper and depart for continuation of journey towards the summit of Mount Kinabalu.
The journey up to the Low’s peak @ 4,095m will test your fitness and determination. Depending on speed of trekking, you might be able to experience the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mt. Kinabalu if weather permits.
Descend back to Laban Rata for late breakfast and check out.
Trek down to Timpohon Gate for transfer back to the Kinabalu Park Headquarter (est. arrival 13:00hrs to 15:00hrs).
Congratulations, you can now collect your Certificate of Achievement!
Buffet Lunch will be served at the Balsam restaurant in Kinabalu Park.
Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu City. Journey takes approx. 2 hrs.

What to bring:
Raincoat, warm clothing, windbreaker, a bottle of drinking water, insect repellent, sun block, cap, gloves, warm socks, camera, lip balm, toilet paper, good flashlight or headlight, personal toiletries, towel and other items of personal use. Take some high energy food (chocolate, power bar, nuts, raisins, and glucose sweets). Walking stick (Ski poles) may be useful.
Take lightweight cotton shirts, short/long pants recommended. It may rain on the mountain, so bring spare items that are important to you in case they get wet in the rain.
Travel light. Carry a light overnight backpack. Make backpack waterproof by covering contents with large plastic bags. Carry spare plastic bag for wet items in case of rain. Use good trekking shoes.
You will experience variations in atmospheric pressure and unpredictable weather. Bring some headache tablets, diarrhoea and vomit pills. Some plasters for cuts or blisters are all useful.
Your extra luggage can be stored at Kinabalu Park HQ at a nominal fee of MYR 10 per piece prior climb.
All mountain climbers are required to produce their passport (Non-Malaysian) and/or identity card (Malaysian) during the registration process at the Kinabalu National Park Headquarters. A climbing permit will be issued to climbers.
No special skills or equipments are need to climb Mount Kinabalu. However climbing requires average fitness and some basic trainings such as brisk walking, swimming, and climbing steps will be useful. Climbers should be healthy and with no history of suffering from the following ailments:
1) Heart disease
3) Chronic asthma
4) Peptic ulcer
5) Severe anaemia
8) Epileptic fits
10) Hepatitis (Jaundice)
11) Muscular cramps
13) Mobility challenged
14) Any other sickness that may be triggered by severe cold, exertion and high altitude
