Visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang Hill and funicular railway.
The Kek Lok Si Temple is one of the largest Buddhist Temples in South East Asia covering an area of 12 acres. Perched on the side of a hill, the temple encompasses distinct Thai, Burmese and Chinese architecture. Once your guide has finished introducing you to this fascinating building, you are free to wander around the temple.
The journey by funicular railways to the summit of Penang Hill takes approximately 30 minutes. Once at the top the views are fantastic and you can clearly see the mainland and the connecting Penang Bridge, the longest in South East Asia. You will also be able to pick out the landmarks of Georgetown that you may have already visited. During your free time on the hilltop you can have a cup of coffee or tea, visit a small aviary, or just stroll and enjoy the cool, clean air.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Cotton T-shirts with long or short pants recommended. Sandals/Slippers recommended.
